Anna is a young midwife seeking the truth about a Russian girl who dies in her arms during childbirth. The only clues Anna has are a diary and a book of matches, which inevitably lead her into the heart of the Russian mafia. To make matters worse, the diary that Anna possesses holds key evidence against the main boss.  But its contents may well be the key to saving many more lives...but maybe at a high cost.
